Ewe Ewe and Milla Mia Trunk Show

Did you miss the Trunk Show last Saturday?  No worries!  We will have the samples at Stash until February 16th!  Stop by to see, feel, and try on the hand knit samples from Ewe Ewe Yarns and Milla Mia Aran.  Be one of the first to see the just released pattern the Pilsner Pullover from Ewe Ewe Yarns!  We've been busy trying on all the Milla Mia samples from the book Finishing Touch to see what we will be making next :)

Oh Baby, Baby Hats!



Supplies: Ewe Ewe Wooly Worsted yarn, 1 skein if making a solid color hat, 1 skein of each color if making striped hats.  US 7 12" circ needle and US 7 DPN's.  Yarn needle for weaving in ends

Size: infant

Abbriviations:
CO - Cast On
PM - place marker
K - Knit
P - Purl
MC - Main color
CC - Contrast color
k2tog - knit two together
sts - stitches

CO 64 sts with MC using circular needle, PM and join for working in the round, being careful not to twist stitches

K2, P2 rib for 5 rows

If knitting solid color: Knit every row with MC for 4" then continue to decrease instructions.

If knitting stripes: K 1 row MC. *K 2 rows CC, K 2 rows MC. Continue from * alternating colors every two rows until hat measures 4". Follow decrease instructions, alternating color every two rows, as follows.  Change to DPN's when sts are too tight for circular needle:

Decreases:
Row 1: *K6, K2tog, repeat to marker
Row 2: Knit
Row 3: *K5, K2tog, repeat to marker
Row 4: Knit
Row 5: *K4, K2tog, repeat to marker
Row 6: knit
Row 7: *K3, K2tog, repeat to marker
Row 8: Knit
Row 9: *K2, K2tog, repeat to marker
Row 10: Knit
Row 11: *K1, K2tog, repeat to marker
Row 12: Knit
Row 13: *K1, K2tog, repeat to marker
Row 14: Knit

K2tog until there are 4 sts left, transfer all sts to one DPN and work I-cord for 4"

Tie I-cord in a knot

Cut yarn and thread onto yarn needle.  Thread yarn through live sts on DPN and fasten off.  Weave in loose ends and block as desired.

You can make the stocking even if you’ve never knit a sock before.  And the pattern has a few extra techniques for the more experienced knitter.  You will be finished with your stocking well before Christmas.

This pattern takes one skein each of three colors.  Join us on Fridays (12/5, 12/12, and 12/19) from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm, for the KAL where you can get help, offer tips, share your color choices, and knit in good company!  You can also follow the KAL on the Ewe Ewe Blog

Thursday 12/4: Casting on, knitting in the round, working the hem at the top
Tuesday 12/9: knitting the body of the sock and carrying colors while striping
Thursday 12/11: Making the heel flap, turning the heel, knitting the instep
Tuesday 12/16: Decreasing for the toe and Kitchner Stich.
Thursday 12/18: Hang loop i-cord, finishing and blocking.  Santa’s coming!
