Here is Lisa in for a sewing lesson making the Birdie Sling from an Amy Butler Pattern. This was her first sewing project on her new machine she received for Christmas from her husband. I think she may be hooked on sewing.

After an evening of great conversation, a lot of cutting, and some sewing, Lisa finished her Birdie Sling. I love the fabrics she choose. The main fabric is Anna Maria Horner Sketch Book in Rose and the handle is Joel Dewberry Wood Grain in dark green.

This is the bag I finished. I used Anna Maria Horner Sketch Book in Blue and Amy Butler Full Moon Polka Dot in Slate. This is a great bag to sew. You learn quite a lot of techniques in one project. And the finished product is huge, you could carry a small child in it.
